CONSO-LIDATION

Consolidation is should be considered as a process much more than a treatment. When the durability and stability of paint layers become weak, the painting must be consolidated. The ingredient must penetrate the between paint layers and textiles. For example in the above, painting was consolidated because of the weakness of the paint layer. The consolidation process was done very slowly. Consolidant was applied to painting on the low-pressure table. End of the consolidation process, painting layers became durable and the painting was able to stretch back to frame.
